- Zee Aflam launches competition for viewers; winners can ride on the Zee Aflam balloon and take part in gala dinner
As part of its UAE’s 40th National Day celebrations, Zee Aflam, the first 24-hour Pan Arab Bollywood film channel dedicated to Arabic audiences, will telecast the UAE Ballooning Championship 2011 to be held on December 2 from 5 to 9 pm.
Organised under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, the UAE Ballooning Championship is a colourful event supported by the Government of Dubai and the Dubai Sports Council.

A three-day festival with balloons rising up the Dubai skies with pictorial depictions of UAE’s culture and heritage, the event is the first of its kind in the UAE. A key event of the UAE National Day celebrations, the balloon festival will be hosted at Al Maydan, the hot air balloons with huge light bulbs and Chinese lanterns will light up the evening sky creating a visual spectacle.
Zee Aflam is organising a competition for viewers, whereby the first two winners can ride in the Zee Aflam branded balloon and also join the gala dinner that follows the event. Another 500 viewers can join the event to release floating skylamps, which will add to the evening glow.
Zee Aflam will telecast the event live through its ‘100% Bollywood’ programme, with the presenter Wiam Dahmani to interview the participants and winners.
