The Arab Thought Foundation celebrated the end of its tenth Annual Conference FIKR10 with a dinner at the Pavillion hall, Burj Khalifa, Dubai. His Royal Highness Prince Al Faisal, President of the Foundation, and the UAE Minister of Culture Mr. Abdel Rahman AlOwais, representing His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, Ruler of Dubai, as well an elite of Thinkers, intellectuals and Arab Youth Ambassadors attended the dinner.
HRH Prince Khalid Al Faisal Opened the ceremony with his usual few but inspiring poetic words, expressing the foundations determination in supporting and embarrassing all creativity that helps improve the Arab world in any way. During the dinner, HRH also presented the Arab Creativity Awards to the five winners. Each Arab Creativity Award is worth US$50,000. Winners also received an honorary shield.
The Scientific Creativity Award was presented jointly to Professor Anwar Munir Batikhi and Professor Youssef Salama al-Najjar, both from Jordan for their contributions in scientific publishing and local development projects in water and energy fields.
The Technical Creativity Award was presented to Professor Yusuf Saad Al-Hayek from Jordan for his contribution to theoretical and practical scientific research in biotechnology and its applications in public health and medicine, supported by eight patents worldwide.
The Social Creativity Award was presented to the Lebanese writer Joureye Talaat Fawaz for her field study on the psychological and educational impact of war on children as it represented a new scientific theme.
The Literary Creativity Award was presented to Mr. Hassan Abdullah from Lebanon for his thirty years experience in children literature.
The Artistic Creativity Award was presented to Professor Jawad Al-Asadi of Iraq for advancing the Arabic experimental theatre, treating the issues of violence, strife and the complexity of life.
