A new concept of Arabic novels

Book Club show broadcasted on Sharjah TV and organized by the Sharjah International Book fair, continues hosting the leading Arab authors and critics in each discussion within its rich cultural episode series.

In this context, Book Club will host a critical episode highlighting the most prominent aspects of the Al Akniaa Novel by Dr. Ahmad Abdulmalik. The episode presented by the broadcaster Najmalddin Hashem will host Ali Abdan and Critic and presenter Maen Bayar who will discuss Content, Scenario, Characters and critical aspects of Al Akniaa novel.

Al Akniaa novel is introduced a new concept of the Arabic novel, including another novel within its structure. Hence, the main discussion will focus on this concept as well as the growth of its characters and distinguished narrative fiction. Al Akniaa novel has specific messages such as: the authority of power, Forced pleasure, Consumer Society, Revenge, Prison conditions, Disappointment of love and Punishment. Author refers the first hero which is place a hotel in London where Hypocrites meet.

Dr Ahmad Abdulmalik is a writer and academic from Qatar. He received his Ph.D in Journalism. He has held different positions in Qatar TV in 1974 and was Editor-in-chief of two publications in Qatar. Moreover, he was the Director of Media Department at the Gulf Countries Council (GCC) General Secretariat and Cultural advisor at the National Council for Culture, Arts and Heritage in 2004. He has published over 22 of professional, social, and literary books.

Sharjah TV will present episode in two stages, the first will be broadcast on Monday 9 Jan 2012, and the novel’s writer will be hosted in the next discussion on Monday 16 Jan 2012.

It’s worth mentioning that Book Club comes within a series of shows hosted by Sharjah TV that are organized by SIBF and deals with the critic aspects of a collection of novels issued lately by a number of writers and novelist.

SIBF aims behind organizing such cultural programs at communicating with its audience and showing the most recent updates on the level of Arabic novel.
