The winner will represent the UAE at Ernst & Young’s World Entrepreneur Of The Year event in Monte Carlo in June 2012
Ernst & Young today announced the launch of the Entrepreneur Of The Year 2011 country program in the United Arab Emirates. The program celebrates entrepreneurs who have demonstrated excellence and extraordinary success in areas such as innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities. The global program spans more than 140 cities and 50 countries worldwide and has been running for 25 years.
Ashraf Abu-Sharkh, Partner and UAE Entrepreneur Of The Year Leader, Ernst & Young, said: “Even in the most challenging times, these entrepreneurs are constantly looking for opportunity and continue to use their ingenuity and perseverance to create and sustain growing business ventures. We believe that these business pioneers can transform economies, drive innovation and even change communities.”
To be eligible for consideration, nominees must be owners and managers who are primarily responsible for the recent performance of a privately held business that is at least two years old, or founder shareholders of a listed company who is still active in senior management or is still a 51% owner.
Ashraf added: “These exceptional individuals have thrived in the UAE’s unique business environment that rewards entrepreneurship, innovation and foresight. Historically, entrepreneurs have been an integral part of the business landscape of the country and their contributions have played a commendable role in the UAE’s economic development and prosperity.”
The winner will represent the UAE at Ernst & Young’s World Entrepreneur Of The Year event in Monte Carlo in June 2012.
