DSF Journalism Award 2012 unveiled

The Dubai Events and Promotions Establishment (DEPE), an Agency of the Department of Economic Development (DED) and the organisers of Dubai Shopping Festival, has announced the details of the much-awaited DSF Journalism Award 2012. This year’s award comes with a new format with some categories amended and new ones added.

Entries for the annual DSF Journalism Award, which is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, are invited from print media organisations/journalists for six different DSF Journalism Award 2012 categories.

The six categories for this year’s Award are Best Feature (local newspapers), Best Feature (Regional Newspapers), Best Feature (Magazines ), Best Feature by a Promising Journalist (category open for journalists Under 28 years only), Best Electronic Feature (online portals), and the sixth category – Best Editorial Team Coverage – will be given to the editorial team that will present the best and most diversified coverage of DSF 2012 in one newspaper.

Announcing the Journalism Award 2012, the DEPE Media Centre stated: “Ever since the Dubai Shopping Festival was launched in 1996, it has received fantastic support from the members of the media. The fact that the festival is now recognized as an internationally renowned event is a tribute to the dedication and whole-hearted support extended by the media in spreading awareness and generating interest in the festival among its readers. In this regard, the DSF Journalism Award is an initiative by the Dubai Events and Promotions Establishment to honour the efforts of journalists in the UAE and region.”

All entries will be judged on the quality of research, writing style, quality of content, creativity and overall presentation.
