Dubai SME, the agency of the Department of Economic Development in Dubai mandated to develop the small and medium enterprise (SME) sector, is organising an open day on the 26th of January to bring together members and entrepreneurs across the UAE in a dialogue with Dubai SME officials.
Through the meeting, Dubai SME aims to promote direct communication with the entrepreneur community and listen to the suggestions and views on the best means to facilitate regular interaction between individuals and Dubai SME.
Dubai SME is keen to enable UAE citizens to achieve global competitiveness and recognition through innovative enterprises. The agency provides guidance and support to such enterprises to grow and compete successfully with multinationals, thus hoisting the name of the UAE and enhancing its position in the global economic arena.
Abdul Basit Al Janahi, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai SME, said: “Dubai SME seeks to enhance communication with the entrepreneurs community and SMEs and provide them the best services. We also attach great importance to re-evaluating our programmes and initiatives through open exchanges held in the spirit of transparency and credibility.”
Al Janahi added: “During these meetings, we try to identify the needs of our members and the challenges. Based on their feedback we re-evaluate the services we provide as required to facilitate SME development, which in turn contributes to the economy in the emirate of Dubai and the UAE in general.”
Al Janahi also stated that Dubai SME is implementing strategies and initiatives that motivate innovation and spread an enabling entrepreneurial culture. Creating a nurturing environment for individuals and their innovative ideas and then transforming their ideas into successful projects that contribute to a competitive national economy based on knowledge and built along the UAE Vision 2021 is the cornerstone of Dubai SME’s strategy.
“I invite all UAE youth who have the ambition as well as actionable and creative ideas to connect with Dubai SME and be part of the dialogue. Our doors are open for you and we will help you achieve your goals and translate your ideas into tangible projects. The open day will allow attendees to connect with Dubai SME officials and have their concerns addressed. It will help enhance the confidence of the business community and add value to SME development in the country,” Al Janahi said.
The open day, which will be held in the Business Village, Building A, will bring together over 100 Dubai SME members and entrepreneurs across the UAE. Those who wish to attend the open day can call 04 3613000 to reserve their seats.
