Dubai SME, the agency of the Department of Economic Development in Dubai mandated to develop the small and medium enterprises (SMEs) sector, recently hosted a specialised seminar titled ‘Winning Strategies to get more Customers for Your Business.’
The seminar, held as part of the www.smeconnect.ae platform of Dubai SME, was aimed to help entrepreneurs and new businesses identify their key growth enablers and chart business development with a sharp focus on customer satisfaction, differentiation and value creation.
Participants in the seminar were encouraged to build unique selling propositions and marketing techniques to positively differentiate the business against competition. Businesses were also reminded of the importance of thinking in the longer term in attracting and retaining customers, with an eye on the life-time value the customer can bring to the business.
Nearly 60 entrepreneurs and professionals, including men and women, from diverse sectors such as food and beverages, accounting and auditing, banking, insurance, digital marketing, training, management consultancy, legal services, construction, security systems and event management attended the seminar held at the Dubai SME offices in the Business Village, Dubai.
The seminar, one of a series of awareness and training programmes launched under the umbrella of www.smeconnect.ae, also highlighted the core elements that help establish a business and ensure steady revenues and profits.
“Smeconnect.ae was launched to provide a roadmap for entrepreneurs and executives to benefit from best practices and strategic thinking in entrepreneurial growth. Since then the website has steadily expanded into a valuable platform for knowledge-sharing and networking among entrepreneurs and business development experts,” commented Mr Abdul Basit Al Janahi, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai SME.
“Dynamic engagement between everyone involved in the SME sector is essential to optimise the promising entrepreneurial environment in Dubai. Smeconnect.ae will continue to actively pursue opportunities for such engagement and facilitate deal-making among SME businesses,” Al Janahi added.
The seminar was led by Simon Hodges, an international business expert and Chief Executive of the marketing and business development consultancy Alchemy Network ME.
Smeconnect.ae has lined up further training and education programmes for entrepreneurs and business managers during February 2012. Updated information on the programmes and events are available on the website www.smeconnect.ae.
