Dubai SME recently hosted a training course for entrepreneurs on ‘Time Management’ and its positive impact on job performance, productivity, and efficient customer service. Dubai SME is the agency of the Department of Economic Development in Dubai mandated to develop the small and medium enterprise sector.
The training course was attended by over 50 entrepreneurs and business professionals. They have represented varied industry sectors and nationalities. Many Emirati entrepreneurs also attended.
“Time management is one of the major challenges faced by many businessmen and investors, as officials face in administrative tasks. The training course was organised at the request of former trainees and was aimed at supporting entrepreneurs to develop time management skills and apply the best and proven solutions in their business environment,” said Abdul Baset Al Janahi, CEO, Dubai SME.
A range of best practices that may be employed in small and medium enterprises to manage time were highlighted in the seminar. These are: time-setting, to-do lists, scheduling, periodic reviews of tasks to ensure speed of delivery and use of modern technology to source information.
The instructor also outlined behavioural improvements such as self commitment and discipline. Organized work stations and concise meetings help to avoid waste of time and enhancing productivity.
