Winners for the Arab Journalism Awards to be announced
Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Dubai Press Club today announced the 11th edition of the Arab Media Forum (AMF 2012) will open tomorrow.
Themed ‘Arab Media: Exposure and Transition’, the two-day event will be held at the Grand Hyatt and gather over 2,000 regional and global media representatives, and 350 overseas guests.
AMF 2012 will focus on the latest developments in the Arab media landscape. Through a series of panel discussions and workshops, the region’s largest media gathering will host 70 media experts and professionals from various sectors and academic backgrounds to deliberate on these developments and changing trends. Engaging participants in a constructive dialogue, the event will particularly examine the impact of industry-specific issues on individuals and media institutions, and determine a roadmap for the Arab media.
The forum will conclude on 9 May with the announcement of winners for the Arab Journalism Awards. A special ceremony will honour the recipients across 12 categories amidst a distinguished audience of top government officials and media luminaries.
