UAE’s 41st National Day Celebration Dates Announced

A plethora of exciting and spectacular events and community-based activities will be lined up to celebrate the UAE’s 41st National Day within the UAE and abroad starting from 25 November up to 3 December 2012, the National Day Committee announced today.

In its first meeting today chaired by Abdul Rahman Al Owais, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development, the Committee discussed a series of issues including contents of the official logo and website of the grand day, programmes and events, and proposed concept of the call centre. Date of launching the National Day website was also discussed.

The National Day Committee, in association with representatives from all seven Emirates, have planned a series of exciting events, projects and programmes stretching across all the nation, to promote the national identity and salute the nation’s rich history, culture, and achievements.

Expressing delight at last year’s celebrations, Al Owais urged members of the committee to lend more attention to the quality of events this year so as to match the prominent outstanding of the UAE and the glorious event.

The meeting approved formation of sub-committees for media, events, and follow up and coordination.

The National Day Committee has been established to coordinate the National Programme of Celebrations on the occasion of the United Arab Emirates National Day.

Middle East 4 The National Day Celebrations have always been a patriotic and social event that has a great impact on the citizens of the UAE. Therefore, the Committee’s role includes encouraging involvement in the programme by all government authorities, community groups, private sector, the public and the international community. In order to fulfill its mandate, the Committee oversees and coordinates the celebrations and ensures effective synchronization of activities across all partners.

The UAE marked the 40th UAE National Day under the theme of ”Spirit of the Union” that binds the cosmopolitan community of the UAE, and connecting it under one banner, one flag.
