Another improved Apple product is about to make the news. The company is expected to release thinner iMacs with Retina display.

Rumors about the improved desktop computers have been circulating for a while. Different websites published photos, claiming that they show the improved iMacs.

According to the latest updates, the next-generation iMac will not come with the a Retina display, but this is not much likely. In addition, many of the functions and the components of the new iMacs will be similar to the older models of the computer. However, the computers will reportedly have a brand new design and  improved look. They will come in two different versions – a small (21.5-inch) and a big one (27-inch). In addition, the iMacs will have top-quality displays with protective cover glass. The cover and the unique shell design of the devices will make them look even thinner.

Apple is expected to unveil its next-generation products on October 23, when its next media event is scheduled. Apart from the new iMacs, the company will probably showcase other new or improved products. Among them are smaller iPad (iPad Mini) and MacBook Pro with 13-inch Retina display. MacBook Pro is predicted to be released at a price of $1,300 in order to attract more clients before the big holiday season.

The two iMac models won’t be released on the same date. Sources claim that 21.5-inch version will debut a few weeks earlier than the 27-inch iMac. Reports state that the supply of the bigger desktop computer will be more limited, because of panel and assembly yield rate problems.

Despite that analysts expect sales of Apple’s new product to hit record levels. Experts estimate that only during the Christmas holidays the company will sell about 5,5 million iMac units. If that happens, Apple will reach its highest quarter sales in 2012. The company achieved its latest peak sales during the 2011 holiday season. Back then, Apple sold 5.2 million Mac units for three months.
