The Dubai Mall, the world’s largest shopping and entertainment destination, will treat Dubai visitors and residents to an unprecedented line-up of events, activities and promotions for Eid Al Adha from October 18 to November 2, 2012 with an array of entertainment and leisure activities continuing after midnight to mark the 24 hour opening of the mall on three consecutive weekends.
In line with the recent announcement of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai to extend Eid in Dubai celebrations, The Dubai Mall is rolling out an ‘All Night Long’ programme of surprises including raffles, prizes, giveaways and world-class entertainment.

The first weekend will kick-off spectacularly with international celebrity visits from Atelier Music Festival. On October 19 from 2pm, stars hosting a one hour exclusive Q&A session at the Fashion Catwalk include the likes of 50 Cent, Craig David, Ciara, Nelly, DJ Antoine & LMFAO. Visitors will get the rare opportunity to see their favourite personalities up-close and personal at the event hosted by Kris Fade from Virgin Radio.
From October 18 to 22, the Fashion Catwalk will serve as the stage for Live Musical Performances by Hamami Brothers and Dubai Royal Marichi Bands showcasing, respectively, Arabic fusion and Mexican vibrant and dancing notes. The performance goes on daily with an extended time on weekends until 3am.
Throughout Eid celebration dates, The Souk, reflecting on local customs and heritage, will offer passers-by traditional Arabic entertainment such as a Yawela band, Arabic dancers, Tanoura dance, Arabic music band, Falconers, and will offer Henna painting, coffee and fresh juices. The Dubai Mall will also host hospitality tents providing coffee and dates to visitors at the Fashion Avenue and Grand Atrium entrance.
A first in the Middle East, ‘The World of Pinocchio’, an exhibition by Italian artist Bartolucci, will be showcased at Star Atrium featuring children workshops, from October 25 to November 3. Around the same period, fashionistas and artists will love ‘Kellydoscope’ by Hermes, where one can experience the poetry in daily situations with the perspective of being inside an iconic Kelly bag.
Entertaining themed Flash Mobs will amuse visitors on the two first weekends of Eid Al Adha with surprise performances to feature until late at night at the Fashion Catwalk and the Grand Atrium. Children will love the Carnival Parades and face painters and can participate in painting workshops at the Bloomingdale’s Atrium and much more.
Throughout the celebrations of Eid Al Adha, shoppers spending AED 300 or more will get a chance to win AED 300,000 in National Bonds with the ‘Spend & Win’ promotion valid at all shops, attractions and F&B outlets of The Dubai Mall. By spending after midnight on weekends, customers can double their chances of winning to receive ‘scratch & win’ tickets giving instant prizes such as free access to At The Top, Burj Khalifa and Emaar Retail attractions.
Visitors to The Dubai Mall will also get a chance to benefit from the great Eid special sales and discounts offered on shopping, dining and attractions.
The leisure and entertainment attractions within The Dubai Mall will also be open during the 24 hour weekends and offer a range of promotions. In the Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo visitors will use headlamps on overnight safaris to view the marine life through the 270-degree walkthrough tunnel and the world’s largest viewing panel.
Other attractions that will be open throughout the night during the Eid in Dubai celebratory weekends include SEGA Republic, a 76,000 sq ft indoor theme park; the 22-screen Reel Cinemas; and the Olympic-sized Dubai Ice Rink.
Located in the heart of the prestigious Downtown Dubai mixed-use development, The Dubai Mall features retail outlets, two anchor department stores and over 160 food and beverage outlets. The 440,000 sq ft Fashion Avenue, dedicated to high fashion, positions the mall as the fashion capital for the region, while The Souk, features 99 stores offering gold & jewellery, traditional handicrafts, souvenirs, abayas, perfumes and carpets, among others, in a dedicated precinct designed to reflect traditional Arabic heritage and culture. The Village is the region’s first indoor-outdoor streetscape with a fully retractable roof, with tree-lined walkways, cafes and restaurants.
