Have you ever considered going to Turkey for the Eid Al Adha celebrations? If not, now is the time to give it a thought since these celebrations are really worth seeing. You can still book a flight with Flydubai, Pegasus, Emirates airline, Qatar Airways, the Turkish or the Austrian airlines.

Eid Al Adha traditionally marks the end of the annual pilgrimage of Muslims from all over the world to Mecca, which means that both domestic and international travels in Turkey are pretty intense during this time of the year. However, you should not let that scare you! All you have to do is to plan your trip and you will have a memorable holiday celebrating and exploring the Turkish ways of honoring the religious holiday. If you are not a Muslim, it will be a great way to get to know the local culture, and if you are a believer, it will be even more exciting to take part into the festivities.

Eid Al Adha is celebrated with great enthusiasm in Turkey. Here people dress up in their most beautiful clothes, bought specially for the occasion, and attend morning prayers and services. After that they visit their family, friends and neighbors and have a great feast. This is also the time to pay respects to loved ones who are no longer with us.

In Turkey, the holiday of Eid Al Adha is also linked to another interesting tradition. Children call this day Şeker Bayramı, or Holiday of Sweets. This is the time when they go from house to house and wish everyone a happy holiday, and in return they are given small sums of money or little treats like chocolates, candies or traditional sweets such as Turkish Delight. This particular custom resembles a little the Western Halloween traditions.

All tourists who wish to explore these interesting traditions will also be delighted to know that most museums, sights and bazaars are usually closed only for the first day of the holiday. There will be plenty to see and do, and, moreover, you may also be invited to participate in the festivities. This will turn your journey into a particularly exciting and memorable experience.

Turkey is one of the best places to be during the Eid Al Adha celebrations!
