Packed events line-up makes this a November to remember in Dubai

Back-to-back sporting action, global superstars, yachts and gold and diamonds in a glittering month of events for the Emirate

As the cooler months are now upon us, it’s time to make the most of the best weather in the Emirates with a host of outdoor activities, concerts and sporting events for all ages and interests. With so much on offer and so many choices, Dubai Calendar, the official listing of events in Dubai, selects a few highlights to delight Dubai residents and visitors alike over a packed 30-day period.

This November we have something to please everyone – from the world’s best golfers in action to Jennifer Lopez live in concert and a whole lot more in between. It really is an amazing line up over 30 days and I challenge anyone to find a more exciting and inspiring place to live, work or play this month.”

This weekend, November 8-10, nautical enthusiasts must make a journey down to Dubai Creek to visit the International Used Boat Show. Established in 2010, this event gives would-be-sailors a chance to view a selection of impressive vessels and features live music, international food and a children’s zone.

Conducted under the governance of the Asian Swimming Federation, is the 9th Asian Swimming Championships an event held every four years with the top swimmers from across the continent. Feel the thrill of the competition as these highly trained athletes race at this three day event at the Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Sports, 15-18 November.

The Dubai International Jewellery Show from 21-24 November at Dubai World Trade Centre is the premier exhibition in the city this month showcasing a selection of fine jewellery, diamonds and watches, all under one roof.

Golf fanatics should head down to Jumeirah Golf Estates for the DP World Tour Championship and the ‘Race to Dubai’ from 22– 25 November where all 12 of the winning Ryder Cup team will be in action competing for this prestigious title.

Towards the end of the month Dubai will host the event we have all been talking about for months…. Jennifer Lopez’s Dance Again tour and her Middle Eastern debut. Whilst the concert has been sold out, keep your eyes open for competitions and chances to win highly sought after tickets on the Dubai Calendar Facebook and Twitter page @DXB_Calendar.

Following on with the musical theme, Flemish- Australian singing sensation Goyte, best known for his 2011 hit single ‘Somebody That I Used to Know’, prepares to entertain crowds at the Dubai World Trade Centre the following evening, 23 November. Buy your tickets early to avoid missing out on his regional debut live performance.

As the international rugby season kicks off, the city hosts the annual Emirates Airline Dubai Rugby Sevens at The Sevens Stadium, 29 November-1 December. Part of the IRB Sevens World Series, this three day event features an array of family friendly entertainment and is one of the biggest events on the Dubai social calendar.

Finally as the month comes to a close the FAI Mondial World Parachuting Championships comes to town from 28 November to 10 December at JBR. For the first time in the Middle East, over 800 parachutists will literally descend on the city to participate in competitions of formation skydiving, canopy formations, accurate landing, canopy piloting, over water, freefall flying, freefall style and para skiing. It will undoubtedly be a spectacular occasion.
