The Emirates marquee topped off a week of Irish fun and festivity with an incredible closing party on Emirates Stakes Day, marking a fantastic end to the week that was. Emirates has been a title sponsor of Emirates Stakes Day since 1998 and is proud to play such an integral on going role in what is a wonderful day for the whole family.
Emirates Stakes Day Fashions on the Field took place in the afternoon, judged by 2012 Emirates Stakes Day Fashions on the Field Family Ambassadors Simone Callahan and her children, Brooke, Jackson and Summer Warne.
The $1,005,000 Group One Emirates Stakes race was won in impressive fashion by Happy Trails, ridden by Damien Oliver, with the Steven Arnold-ridden Launay landing out the last race of the Carnival week in the Emirates Airline Handicap.
“This year’s Irish-themed marquee has provided the perfect way for us to promote the unique splendours of Dublin and Ireland to our Australian customers,” said Boutros Boutros, Emirates’ Divisional Senior Vice President Corporate Communications.
“This has been an exciting year for Emirates; in addition to our newly announced partnership with Qantas, we have launched flights from Adelaide and will soon offer a third daily service to Perth. These new services will see Emirates operating 84 flights a week from Australia,” said Mr Boutros.
Special guests of the Irish themed Emirates marquee on Emirates Stakes Day included, Charlotte Dawson, Kris Smith, Simon Callahan, Rhiannon Fish, Samara Weaving, Lincoln Younes, Charles Cottier, Melanie Vallejo, Dale Thomas, Jarryd Roughead and Irish Rose of Tralee, Claire Lynch.
Emirates Stakes Day saw the premier birdcage marquee put on a classic celebration of Irish food, drink and entertainment, before closing the doors to Trinity College for the season.
