The big fuss around this year’s Black Friday inspirited us to take a look at shopping from a funnier perspective. Shopping is something we all have to and need to do. This activity is simply unavoidable. Recently, psychologists found that different people take shopping in different ways. As a result, they decided to divide shoppers into various types according to their personality. Let’s see if you can find yourself in one of them!

Retail Therapy Addicts

These shoppers are anything but practical. They go shopping every time they feel stressed or unhappy. Even if they don’t need it, they would buy it just to brighten up their mood. Also, retail therapy addicts often like to reward themselves with small gifts after completing a hard task or surviving a tough day at work. For example, they will sit at the Armani Cafe at The Dubai Mall and brag about their lives or worse  – eat cupcakes at Magnolia bakery.

Penny-Pinchers

Unlike retail therapy addicts, penny-pinchers are pragmatic to the core of their souls. They are the first to show up at a sale. However, even when they find one, they may leave the store empty-handed because they didn’t found a bargain deal. As a matter of fact, penny-pitchers are the first to line in front of the shops for the Black Friday promotions.

Economical Shoppers

Don’t mistake them for the penny-pinchers. This type of shopping personality also loves sales. However, economical shoppers won’t go home before they buy something. As a matter of fact, they often get carried away. If they find a product on sale they like to buy a couple of it. Economical shoppers are those people who would get something they would never use, just to get the thing that comes free with it.

Generous Shoppers

The best type of friend! Generous shopping personalities always think about their friends and family. When they go shopping they like to buy some treats and gifts for their favourite people. Moreover, they know what gift would make their friends happy.

Perks Junkies

Like the economical shoppers, these people like free stuff. However, they rarely spend any money. The only reason they enter a shop is to try out a few perfume samples or to cool down near the air conditioning.

Delusional Cougars

This type of shopping personality is usually a middle-aged woman who still believes she has the body of a 20-year-old girl. They choose clothes and accessories which are worn only by teenagers. The typical delusional cougar has a teenage daughter and she wears outfits that are similar to hers.

Lucky Shoppers

These shoppers don’t spend much time or though when shopping. Nevertheless, they are always at the right place in the right time. Lucky shoppers are gifted with the amazing ability to find once-in-a-lifetime sales. They never try out the clothes or the shoes in the store, but they always manage to find the perfect fit.

Narcissists

Similar to the perk junkies, the narcissists are not big buyers. They just enter a store, take a pile of clothes and start performing a little runway show. They dress up in various outfits and occupy the store’s mirrors. Also, they never go “shopping” without their camera or phone, because they like to take pictures of themselves and share them in the social networks. After they exhaust the shop assistant to the limit or try out everything in which they can get themselves in, they quickly scoot off.

The Newbie and the Pro

These two go shopping together. The newbies can easily be spotted by their confused look and the pros are those who know the names of every shop attendant they meet. The pro is the one that gives all the advice, while the newbie quietly follows behind.

Brand Name Loyalists

The last type of shopping personality treats brand products as if they are people. They are the ones who like to talk and hug their expensive “friends”. In addition, you will never see them buy items that are not designer. For them that is a matter of honor! Many of them are actually nor interested in Black Friday sales, because it makes them feel underrated and discounted.

So which one are you?
