A symbol of UAE’s civic pride, Burj Khalifa is saluting the nation’s visionary leadership and the spirit of solidarity that marks the 41st UAE National Day celebration, with a spectacular illumination of the global icon featuring the colours of the national flag on the façade of the tower’s uppermost levels, until December 7.

The world’s tallest building’s highest levels will be at its resplendent best every evening through the UAE National Day celebrations in red, green and white, inspired by the national flag colours, gleaming elegantly against the backdrop of the night sky.

Towering at a height of 828 metres, Burj Khalifa’s tribute to the nation will also be the highest of its kind illumination of the UAE national flag colours. The brilliant spectacle can be visible from afar, in a proud declaration of the nation’s ‘spirit of the union.’

Mr Ahmad Al Matrooshi, Managing Director of Emaar Properties, the developer of Burj Khalifa, said: “Burj Khalifa is the pride of the nation, an accomplishment that reflects the resourcefulness, dedication and forward looking vision of the country. The iconic tower demonstrates the principles of global collaboration, strategic planning and committed execution, which have also played a key role in the evolution of our nation as a global leader.”

He added: “With the spectacular illumination of Burj Khalifa’s top facade featuring the colours of our national flag, we are saluting the nation, our leaders and the people for the spirit of solidarity and brotherhood. As a nation, we are a beacon of hope and inspiration for the region. This National Day is another opportunity to celebrate our achievements and to further renew our commitment to work towards achieving UAE’s Vision 2021 to become one of best nations in the world across all aspects.”

The UAE National Day illumination of Burj Khalifa will be at the higher levels just below the spire, thus making it visible to people from far. Several lighting experts have been working on executing the illumination, taking into consideration various factors such as installation on the façade at such heights, and the choice of lights for maximising the illuminating effect while conserving energy.

The illumination of Burj Khalifa complements a rich array of entertainment, cultural and lifestyle activities to be hosted at Downtown Dubai, Emaar’s flagship mega-development which is anchored by the global icon.

One of the most anticipated events for the 41st UAE National Day celebrations is the Downtown Dubai National Day Parade. Several leading public and private sector entities are taking part in the celebration with dedicated floats that narrate the sterling accomplishments of the nation.
