This year we witnessed some huge championships in the world of sports. One of them is Euro 2012 which is officially the most searched term of 2012. Right after that come the London Olympics which were one of the trendies search topics in the world. In addition, some of the most Googled athletes were actually Olympians. Among them are Jamaican Usain Bolt, and U.S. swimmer Michael Phelps.
But tennis certainly interested sport fans the most. In the top 10 of the most searched Olympians are also tennis players Roger Federer, Venus Williams, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic. Also, the trendiest British athlete who participated in the London Olympics is another tennis legend – Andy Murray. But despite Euro 2012 and the Olympic Games, the most searched sport this year was synchronized swimming. Interesting, isn’t it?
Google’s report also contains facts about the trendiest celebrities over the past 12 month. The most search person in 2012 is singer Whitney Houston.
