The 3rd Basra International Oil & Gas, organized by Expotim International Fair Organizations INC and Pyramids International Group, ended on the 9th of December, after hosting a record number of exhibitors and visitors. The largest oil & gas show in Iraq opened its gate to 18,000 visitors from over 35 countries in 2012, proving itself as an effective international exhibition. The event turned out to be the largest event in Iraq’s oil & gas sector this year as it was in last year. A great portion of the participants of this year’s Edition came respectively from the Iraq, UAE, Turkey, Germany, Jordan, to list the top five countries. The UK and the USA follow these five in the list of countries providing highest numbers of participant companies.
Consisting of exhibition and conference, the event, which received the official support of the Ministry of Oil, achieved a significant impact as being the foremost platform of the oil & gas industry of Iraq. Some of the leading companies in the industry being hosted during the 3rd Basra Oil & Gas were Bertling, Cameron, China Petroleum Technology, CNPC, Emerson Process Management, FMC Techonologies, Honeywell, Mitsubishi, Mott Mc Donald, Rumalia, Samsung, Scania, Shell, Siemens, Tenaris and Volvo. Additionally, Ministry of Oil Companies such as South Oil Company, South Gas Company, Iraq Drilling Company, State Company for Oil Projects, Missan Oil Company and Baghdad Training Institute have taken effective role in the event by networking with the private company representatives about today and future of Iraq Oil & Gas Industry.
As well as international and local industry professionals, officials from state companies and ministries (Ministry of Oil and State Company for Oil Projects) joined this important summit. Keynote speakers were the senior level managers from Gulf Energy, General Electric, Shell, South Gas Company, and Mott Macdonald who put forward their views on their current operations in Iraq, technology , health & safety and many other topics related to the conference theme “Iraq: The Hub of Future Energy.” They discussed the recent developments and difficulties encountering the Oil & Gas Industry while sharing their experiences and enhancing their networking.
