The largest Australian free family BBQ to serve 750 kg of Aussie lamb, in association with the UAE Red Crescent
For the fourth consecutive year, Meat & Livestock Australia (MLA), in association with the UAE Red Crescent, will hold “The Great Australian Barbeque”, the Middle East’s largest Australian free family barbeque, on January 25th, in Dubai Creek Park.
During this event which celebrates Australia Day (January 26th), MLA will serve Dubai Creek Park’s visitors 750Kg of Australian lamb barbeque in addition to a select fun and entertainment program for families, including live cooking by Tarek Ibrahim, the celebrity chef and star of Fatafeet TV. Chef Tarek will be cooking up an ‘Aussie style’ BBQ feast and giving top tips on how to have the perfect BBQ.
Around 3000 people attended last year’s event and a record crowd is expected this year as the event continuously gains more traction and popularity.
“We’re excited that the Great Australian Barbie” has become a much expected activity in Dubai’s annual entertainment calendar and that we’re creating this unique opportunity every year for families in the UAE to experience the delights of Aussie meat barbeque and donate for the UAE Red Crescent”, said Jamie Ferguson, Regional Manager, MEA, Meat & Livestock Australia.
“The event is also an occasion to celebrate our long standing association and collaboration with the UAE Red Crescent, and I seize this opportunity to thank the Charity for their support”, added Ferguson.
Mr. Mohamed Abdullah Al Haj Zarouni, Red Crescent Authority – UAE (Dubai branch) said: “We are happy to be associated with MLA for the fourth consecutive year and support this social activity that has proved its value over the years and has become one of the most successful CSR initiatives in the community”.
