Pfizer supports UAE Hemophilia Group in their efforts to improve Hemophilia care

Marking the National Hemophilia Day, the UAE Hemophilia Group, a section of the Emirates Society of Hematology, has organized a festival of fun on the 25th of January 2013 at the Crowne Plaza hotel in Dubai Festival City.

Balloons releaseThe festival of fun aimed to raise awareness about the Hemophilia disease, its diagnosis and treatments within an environment of fun and joy. Members of the group and society, Hemophilia patients, their families and friends attended the festival where live music, face-painting, puppet shows, arts and crafts and live acts such as a clown and magician have entertained the children all day.

Dr Azzam Alzobie, President of the UAE Hemophilia Group and Dr Muhammad Faisal Khanani, Vice President of the Group, said: “Not only did we want to raise the awareness about the Hemophilia disease among physicians and the public, but also to provide patients who suffer from it the opportunity to enjoy an afternoon of activities, especially that most of those patients are children and help them to understand that even though there is no cure, they are able to live normally with the right treatment. We would like to thank Pfizer for supporting the Group with an unrestricted educational grant and for joining us at the event.”
