The Grammy Awards are schedules for this Sunday at the famous Staple Center and the preparations around it have started long ago. The Grammy nominees, performances, presenters and hosts have been occupying the headlines for a couple of months now. However, the organizers of the show are not taking a minute of break. They are constantly promoting the 55th Grammy Awards. However, this year, more than ever, the Grammys will be relying greatly on social media platforms to reach the public.

The Recording Academy’s Marketing Chief, Evan Greene, says that the 2013 Grammys already have an absolutely dedicated social media team. He assures that the people behind the social media ad campaign are among the best in the world.

The slogan of this year’s Grammy social campaign is “The World is Listening.” Apart from being added to posters, billboards, flyers and magazines, this motto can also be seen a lot in some of the most popular social websites. Also, it is expected that the 2013 Grammys will again conduct interviews with the nominees and the winners via Twitter. Last year, this idea was heartily welcomed and applauded by music fans.

In addition, the Recording Academy introduced its own web platform – Amplifier. There, amateur music artists can share their songs with the world. Big music names like RZA, Linkin Park and Ozzy Osbourne will select the best tracks and then publish them all over the social networks.

The Academy will also promote the 2013 Grammy Awards through video platform VEVO. There fans will be able to watch interviews with the nominees in the category Best New Artist.

This year, Google+ fans will too get special treatment. To celebrate the 1 million Grammy fans on Google’s social website, the Recording Academy will give away tickets to the show to lucky G+ users. However, there will be a competition first in which Google+ “inhabitants” would need to post a thank-you speech on yet another social website – YouTube.

Greene shares that the goal of the Recording Academy is to offer news and information around the event in an engaging and interesting way. He adds that the people are already discussing the upcoming show and the Grammy team will only need to encourage it by joining into the conversation.

The 2013 Grammy Awards will take place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on February 10. The show will be hosted by rap star LL Cool J and it will include performances by Taylor Swift, Kelly Clarkson, Maroon 5, Alicia Keys, Rihanna, Bruno Mars, Sting and Justin Timberlake. Among the presenters are names like Beyonce, Neil Patrick Harris, Katy Perry, Prince and Jennifer Lopez.
