Designers’ collections for Spring 2013 are already hitting the stores. That means only one thing – it is time for the New York Fashion Week! The next show from the annual event will starts in only a couple of hours. The show will exhibit collections for Fall 2013 and possibly hint bits of 2014 fashion. As usual, some of the biggest names in fashion will show off their next season’s visions on the runway.
2013 New York Fashion Week kicked off this Thursday in New York’s Milk and Lincoln Center. It showcases the trendiest women’s designs for the upcoming seasons.
Some Big Returns
Fresh and hype fashion brand BCBGMAXAZRIA opened the show. The brand has taken this role not once over the last few years. In fact, BCBGMAXAZRIA’s collection was one of the most anticipated on the first day of NYFW. The brand earlier surprised its fans and fashionistas with some teaser photos of fabrics, materials and colours taken from their upcoming collection.
There was also a huge and impressive comeback of designer Kenneth Cole. Like BCBGMAXAZRIA, Cole’s collection toke the runway on Day 1 as a closing show.
Betsey Johnson also returns to the world of fashion. The 70-year-old designer suffered a bankruptcy in 2012. But that didn’t seem to stop her since she introduces a brand new budget-friendly collection.
Legendary John Galliano also makes a comeback. This is his first fashion show after his major public scandal. Together with Oscar de La Renta, Galliano will showcase his collection on February 12 (Tuesday). What can we say – it has been two long years!
Celebrities Turn Designers
Katie Holmes and Victoria Beckham will also show off their fashion ideas in New York. Mrs. Beckham’s latest collection was accepted pretty well. In addition, the famous soccer’s wife always lures many of her famous fans like Scarlet Johansson and Kristen Steward.
Katie Holmes, on the other hand, will be more modest. The actress will unveil her collection for Spring 2013. However, it will be presented only to a limited number of people.
New York Fashion Week 2013 will started on February 7th and it will continue until February 14th.
