Not only did Jennifer Lawrence won an Oscar for Best Actress, but she also was among the best dressed ladies of the evening. The Silver Linings Playbook star wore a Dior haute Couture gown with a fitted bodice and a strapless neckline. Lawrence also shined in jewelry by Chopard and shoes by Brian Atwood. Her overall feeling was young, fresh and vibrant!
Jennifer Aniston also looked stunning in her Valentino dress. It was great to see the Friends actress to finally change black for something brighter and bolder. Like her namesake Lawrence, Aniston was dressed in a strapless gown. However, her hairstyle was more casual.
Les Miserables actress Amanda Seyfried appeared in a breathtaking Alexander McQueen dress. Its pale gray colour gave her an angelic appearance and her up do – style and class.
For a number of years, Zoe Saldana was a regular in the worst dressed Oscar lists. However, this year the actress managed to sneak into the Oscars Best Dressed on the red carpet. Saldana rocked an Alexis Mabille Couture with gown floral embroidery and nice small details. The Avatar star was one of the few Hollywood names who were not afraid to keep the makeup and hairstyle to the minimum.
One of the biggest stunners of the night was Catherine Zeta-Jones. The Michael Douglas wife looked better and younger than many of her 20- and 30-year-old colleagues. Zeta-Jones was dressed in a golden gown by designer Zuhair Murad. The opulence of her dress was completed by the 200 carats of coloured diamonds that were rumoured to cost the amazing $1 million.
Maria Menounos surprised with the pink colour of her dress. However, both fans and fashion experts agreed that she looked really lovely and sweet. Menounos wore a silk mermaid dress from Romona Keveza’s Spring collection. Shortly before hitting the red carpet, the Extra presenter shared on Twitter that she had a somewhat extreme and unusual experience before the Oscars. Menounos reported that she had to do her fitting in… a public bathroom.
Among the other movie stars who managed to impress with were Naomi Watts, who wore an Armani Prive gown with a one-shoulder cutout neckline, and Jennifer Hudson, who showed up in deep blue Roberto Cavalli dress with a very high slit. Two other actresses succeeded in cleaning their red carpet reputation. Jessica Chastain, who surprised with her badly fitted gown at the Golden Globes, was one of the cameras’ favourites in her Armani bronze-coloured dreamy gown. Until recently, Halle Berry was subscribed to the worst dressed charts. However, last evening she was pure perfection in an Atelier Versace dress.
