Samsung confirmed the rumours of the release date of its long-anticipated smartphone Galaxy S IV. The company shared the news today on one of its social media profiles. Also, the manufacturer sent out invitations to journalists and fans in which it revealed the name of the Galaxy S IV event – Samsung Unpacked 2013 Episode 1. The Galaxy S IV event will be held in New York and it will be streamed at the company’s YouTube profile dedicated to its mobile products.
Specs?
Although there are various rumours about the function of Galaxy S IV, there is still not information about the device that was actually confirmed by the South Korean company. It is believed that Samsung’s latest product will have a 4.99” SuperAMOLED screen and a 13MP back camera that will support 1080p HD video. In addition, the device is expected to have a front-facing 2MP camera and a 2GB of RAM. Galaxy S IV will probably run on the Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2 operating system. Other rumours state that Samsung’s next smartphone will run on an eight-core processor and that it will rock another eight-core unit only for its graphics. If that is true, Galaxy S IV promises to be one pretty powerful piece of electronics. In addition, it will have better specifications than Apple’s popular iPhone 5.
Key Location
This is the first release of a Galaxy smartphone in the US for the last three years. Back then the company launched its first ever Galaxy smartphone. This plan of Samsung is reported to be triggered by the growing demand for Galaxy devices in the country. By introducing the device in the States, the South Korean company will also be dangerously close to Apple. We remind you that in 2012, Samsung showcased its Samsung Galaxy S III in London and in 2011 the manufacturer held its Galaxy S2 event in Spain.
Despite the fact, the Samsung is no longer the leading smartphone producer in the large US market, it enjoys a huge success in Asia. In addition, its main rival Apple is currently experiencing some a drop in shares. That means that Samsung could not have picked a better time to unveil its next product.
