The culmination of the horse racing season, the Dubai World Cup 2013 will be held on March 30 at the world’s largest integrated racing facility Meydan Grandstand and Racecourse, Nad Al Sheba. The globally renowned horse racing challenge will welcome around 80,000 guests and will conclude with a live performance by British singer Seal.
The 18th edition of the world’s richest raceday will begin at 4.30 p.m. on Saturday, March 30 and will continue at least until 10.00 p.m. The combined prize purse of the nine-race event is worth of $27,250 million which defines the event as one of the most prestigious, and certainly the richest race in the world. Annually held on the last Saturday in March, the Dubai World Cup is part of the Dubai World Cup Night of races and is a Group 1 flat race on an all-weather surface for Thoroughbred horses. Guests will be able to experience the electrifying atmosphere of the entertainment in style and comfort at the specially built hospitality facilities – a trackside hotel, restaurants, lounges and many others.
Fans will be delighted to see Hall of Fame jockey Gary Stevens to ride multiple grade I winner Dullahan. Of course, some of the best thoroughbreds from around the world will take part in the Group 1 contest – 2011 Kentucky Derby (G1) winner Animal Kingdom, 2012 Eclipse Award-winning and Breeders’ Cup Ladies’ Classic (G1) heroine Royal Delta and 2012 South African champion Igugu.
The Dubai World Cup 2013 will close with a special solo performance by a Kiss From A Rose singer, Seal thanks to the collaboration with producers and organisers, Duvent. He is replacing Anastasia who recently cancelled her performance at the event after being diagnosed with breast cancer for the second time. Tickets start from AED 25 for general admission, available for purchase from the sales desk inside Gate B. and packages start from AED 350 per person for Apron Views allowing guests access to the full day of racing. Seal Live Concert will begin after the running of the final race and trophy presentations. . Children under 12 years of age will be admitted for free.
