Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg was found to be the highest rated Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for 2013. CEOs of other technology companies have also done well on the ranking, making the sector one of today’s most powerful industries.

The research was conducted by Glassdoor, a career website. Only a few hours ago, the site published its report which listed the 50 highest rated CEOs for the past 12 months. The study is based on information gathered from over 500,000 reviews on companies written by employees. The survey covers the period between February 2012 and February 2013.

The top achiever this year is Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg. He managed to accumulate an impressive approval of 99%. This is 14% more compared to 2012. That is a bit surprising given the fact that Facebook had to deal with negative reactions to some of its new projects, as well as a few lawsuits initiated by company shareholders. In addition, only a few months ago, four key Facebook investors stated that Zuckerberg should no longer head the company.

Other prominent technology CEOs on Glassdoor’s ranking are Bill McDermott and Jim Hagemann Snabe who took the second place with their work in software company SAP. Paul Jacobs, CEO of Qualcomm also managed to find a place in the top 10. Jacobs enjoys an employee approval of 95% which gives him the 8th spot on the list. Larry Page from Google (11), Marc Benioff from Salesforce (13) and Jeff Bezos from Amazon (16) are not among the leading 10. Out of them, Larry Page is experiencing the biggest fall. In 2012, Google’s CEO was positioned on the 5th place. Further down the list are Oracle’s CEO Larry Ellison (46) and Dell’s leader Michael Dell (49).

Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO, is crushing down to the 18th place. Cook received 4% less employee approval compared to 2012 when he was announced as the highest rated CEO. Over the last few months, Apple’s stocks have hugely dropped and may soon amount to half the price they were in 2012. Apparently, that does not say much good for Cook.

CEOs of financial, investment and banking companies also took a big part of the list. They included CEOs like Northwestern Mutual’s John Schlifske (5), U.S. Bank’s Richard Davis (9), PNC Financial Services Group’s Jim Rohr (27) and JPMorgan Chase’s Jamie Dimon.

Interestingly, there is only one woman on Glassdoor’s list. That is Sharen Turney who is currently CEO of Victoria’s Secret. Turney is sitting comfortably at the 42nd position. She won the approval of 82% of the participants in the research. The situation was similar in 2012 when again there was only one female CEO on the ranking – Meg Whitman from HP. Whitman made it to the 24th spot with an approval rate of 80%.

Here is the list of the top 10 highest rated CEOs for 2013:

  • Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook (99%)
