Scary tremors felt in Dubai at around 14.50 pm on April 16th drove people on the streets. It was longer than any similar tremor during the past three decades.
The UAE’s National Center of Meteorology & Seismology (NCMS) confirmed the quake.
Earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 7.8 hit Iran-Pakistan border, U.S. Geological Survey reports. The USGS report says Tuesday’s quake was at a depth of 15.2 kilometers (nine miles).
Across the Gulf, high-rise buildings swayed and officials ordered evacuations.
Last week, a deadly 6.1 magnitude quake about 96 kilometers (60 miles) southeast of Bushehr, the site of Iran’s reactor.
