First Day of Ramadan Announced

The moon sighting committee has announced that tomorrow, Tuesday 9 July 2013, will be the 30th day of the month of Sha’aban. Accordingly, Wednesday 10 July 2013 will be the first day of the holy month of Ramadan.

Working hours in private sector companies and establishments will be reduced two hours per day during the holy month of Ramadan, according to a circular issued by Saqr bin Ghobash Saeed Ghobash, the Minister of Labour.

Meanwhile, the Dubai Naturalisation and Residency Department has announced that working hours during Ramadan at its headquarters and all sections of the foreign service centres in the emirate will be from 09.00 to 18.00 hours.

The customer service centre of the department at Dubai International Airport will continue to work 24 hours a day.
