Google sent out interesting invitations to the media last week about a new event. Of course, the invites do not reveal much details about the products and services the tech giant plans to unveil. However, it is expected that the company will use the occasion to demonstrate its latest Android mobile operating system and possibly two new Nexus tablets.
The little information that the invitations share is that the event will take place on July 24th, in San Francisco. The press is encouraged to join Android’s chief Sundar Pichai for a “breakfast.” In addition, everyone will have the chance to watch Google’s mysterious event online via live stream on YouTube.
It is clear that Google is planning to announce and introduce something new. The biggest suspect here is the new version of Android – 4.3 Jelly Bean. Google will probably keep previously rumoured Android 5.0 for its Google I/O event.
So, what features will Android 4.3 Jelly Bean include? This version of Google’s mobile operating system will be more like an update. Therefore, the changes are expected to be minor. There is still no information about the improvements, however. Nevertheless, rumour has it that Android 4.3 will come with better Notification functions, additional font options and an improved Camera application. Some bug fixes will be also added in the package. In addition, a recent leaked video of Google-Motorola smartphone Moto X, hints that the new Android may come with an Open Mac function. It will enable an always-listening mode for mobile devices.
There are also speculations that Google may unveil two Nexus tablet PCs on July 24 – Nexus 5 and a new edition of Nexus 7. Unfortunately, again there are no official details about neither of the devices. However, various Nexus 7.2 leaks have flooded the web. What we can conclude from them is that the tablet will run on Snapdragon 600 CPU. Also, it will have a 7-inched full HD display. The price for the 32GB model is currently fixed at $269.99.
If Google actually plans to introduce the new Android this week, it has picked a good timing for that. In addition, Google is preparing to present its Moto X phone and a new OS will definitely make it look more attractive to consumers.
