World’s very first interactive treasure hunt at a waterpark welcomes players to go on a month-long quest for fantastic prizes
Treasure hunters can get set for an even more exciting time at Yas Waterworld Abu Dhabi with the PearlMasters tournament, which kicked off last week and ends on September 22nd.
The world’s first treasure hunt to make an appearance in a waterpark is holding its first time-bound competition where prospective PearlMasters can go on quests in search of lost treasures, interact with magical sea creatures, fire water cannons, solve ancient puzzles and lots more – all for a chance to win AED 5,000.
Competitors take part in a real-life video game that uses cutting-edge technology to create a magical journey through Yas Waterworld Abu Dhabi. The interactive game features numerous uniquely themed Quest Items dotted around the park – more than half of these are large-scale sculptures such as treasure chests, giant oysters, or magical sea creatures that stand alone as works of art and have elements of surprise built in to be revealed to players who successfully decipher the various clues.
The game is offered in two languages, English and Arabic, and is perfect for guests of all ages. Whether you’re an adult, child, or child at heart, the PearlMasters quest offers a fun journey that tests your mental and physical skills.
To participate in the month-long PearlMasters quest, both old and new players can get themselves registered at the PearlMasters shop in the Souk and start their hunt on a level playing field at ‘0’ points. Guests need to speed through the game – completing quests, looking for hidden treasures around the park and earning medallions and points – in a bid to beat the competition during the limited time period and emerge the ultimate PearlMaster.
“The PearlMasters quest has been a hugely popular attraction at the Park and we wanted to take things up a notch by raising the stakes and the prizes. It’s unlike anything seen in a waterpark anywhere in the world and an unbelievably addictive and rewarding game. We dare anyone taking part in it to not get hooked!” says Mike Oswald, Park General Manager.
In order to compete, players must first buy a starter kit, after which they can pay an hourly fee. Registered participants will be entered into the running for three cash prizes, each of which will reward players who win different aspects of the game. All those who have registered will also be automatically entered into a raffle. Park guests can also participate in the regular PearlMasters quest at a lower price, where they can win smaller prizes and souvenirs.
“Either way, whether you are a returning guest or a first-timer, there’s always a chance to win at Yas Waterworld Abu Dhabi!” says Oswald.
