After a memorable visit last year, the wide-world known Cirque du Soliel will return to Dubai, but this time, with a very special show. The troupe will present its tribute production, Michael Jackson The Immortal World Tour, this December.

Attended by over two million fans of the King of the Pop across the world, the special tribute show will open in Dubai on December 30 as one of the highlights of Dubai Shopping Festival. It premiered in October 2011 in Montreal, presenting a unique combination of Michael Jackson’s music and vision, and Cirque du Soleil’s acrobatic performance, attracting celebrities such as Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, Beyonce Knowles and Jay-Z, Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez, Eva Longoria and many more. Generating $163 million, Immortal topped the charts in 2012 and became the highest grossing tour in the U.S. and now is about to gather thousands of Middle Eastern fans. Michael Jackson: The Immortal will open on December 30 and run for half a month until January 14 in Dubai World Trade Centre.

The show is said to create a realistic concert – theatrical experience with 35 of the most popular hits of the late King of Pop. Of course, this wouldn’t be Cirque du Soliel without the numerous circus stunts, amazingly choreographed dances a la Michael Jackson, and stunning setting and costumes. Spectators will see performances by more than 60 artists, acrobats, musicians and dancers, all paying their tribute to the superstar who died at 51, only a few weeks before his biggest performance This Is It in 2009. Of course, many of the songs will be in their original versions, but the troupe has also prepared a lot of creative mixes.

Tickets for Michael Jackson: The Immortal are now available for purchase at a starting price of AED 295. The organizers expect more than 6,000 people every night during the 16 days the show will be in Dubai.
