Prada is bolstering its presence in the United Arab Emirates with the opening of a new store in Abu Dhabi, in the Sowwah Square financial district. Designed by architect Roberto Baciocchi, the store occupies around 500 square meters presenting the men’s and women’s fashion, leather goods, accessories and footwear collections.
The impressive façade is marked by a luminous resin curtain which opens to reveal the entrances, large windows, light-boxes and display windows.
The interior is divided into several areas with distinct finishings: the women’s leather goods zone has mirrored walls, green fabric and black marble, while the product is displayed in slender crystal and polished steel cases, with marble trays at the base. Elegant polished steel and glass counters and black and white chequered marble flooring complete the furnishings.
A broad black marble passageway leads into women’s fashion and footwear. Here the display niches are cut into a green fabric wallcovering that runs right around the room. The beige carpeting, counters and ‘Clover Leaf’ sofas designed by Verner Panton and exclusively reproduced for Prada, create an atmosphere of inviting intimacy.
The men’s collection is presented in sumptuous display cases and glass counters, while the furnishings are completed by beige carpet framed by a strip of black marble, ebony-lined walls and sophisticated coypu sofas.
