Top Actresses Invited for Amazon Series Production

Amazon officially announced that it will launch its very own series production called Alpha House. The show is written by Garry Trusdeau. He is best known with his work on Doonesburt. Some of television’s biggest names will make an appearance on the show. Among them are Wanda Sykes (Curb Your Enthusiasm), Cynthia Nixon (Sex and the City), Julie White (Go On) and Amy Sedaris (Strangers with Candy).

As you can see, the main cast includes a lot of ladies. However, a number of gentlemen will also take part in the production. Actors Clark Johnson, John Goodman, Mark Consuelos and Matt Malloy will all play in the series.

The main story in Alpha House revolves around four men. In their past, they used to worked as senators for the Republican party. However, the viewer will follow their lives of housemates. Of course, their political careers will also be of key importance in the story. Part of the lead actresses in the cast will play their strong political opponents. Cynthia Nixon and Wanda Sykes will take the roles of strong and determined Democratic senators. Nixon will be the more confident of the two, while Sykes will once again show her comedian talent. The other actresses, Julia White and Amy Sedaris, will take the roles of senator wives. Their characters will be quite similar to each other. However, one of them will be kinder, while the other will play tough and rough.

The series will entertain the viewer with parties, election wars, as well as a bit drama. According to Garry Trudeau, the cast for the show is one of “the most talented.”

Where can you watch it?

Alpha House will stream only on Amazon’s Prime Instant Video service . It is scheduled to debut towards the end of 2013. The show was selected to be shown on Prime Instant Video by Amazon users. The company gave its consumers to choose 5 out of 14 TV pilots for its video streaming service. Apart from Alpha House, Amazon users also voted the most for Betas, Creative Galaxy, Annebots, as well as Tumble Leaf. Their pilots will all be shown on Prime Instant Video.

The shows will be produced by Amazon.com’s series and film production department, Amazon Studios. An interesting fact about the show is that its creator Garry Trudeau and Cynthia Nixon have already worked together. The last time Trudeau and Nixon joined forces was in the show Tanner ’88. Sounds like a well-oiled and experienced team, doesn’t it!
