Twitter finally added an option for scheduling Tweets. The micro blogging platform announced this on its official blog this Monday. However, for now, the new feature will be available only for advertisers.

Marketers can set the time, the day or the month in which they want a specific Tweet to be published. They can schedule the posting with up to one year in advance.

The new option is part of the latest update of Twitter’s advertising tools and it is available starting this Monday. The new feature will support many different languages. This will make it useful for markets from all over the world.

However, only advertisers will be able to schedule their Tweets. These are actually all the people who use Twitter Ads. They can access the feature from the Promoted Tweet Campaigns tab.

The introduction of scheduled Tweets can be very useful for marketers. They can be of great help during holiday, evenings or promotional campaigns. Many advertisers find this function necessary since they already rely on various third-party social media management tools, like Hootsuite and Social Flow. Now, when marketers can schedule their Tweets directly from Twitter they will have the chance to save some money and time.

Part of the update of Twitter’s advertising tools is a new Creatives tab. It can be used to quickly access options like Twitter Cards and scheduled Tweets. In addition, the Tweet box for advertisers is also brand new. The new thing about is mainly its design. Marketers can still use it to add a photo, card or a location to their Tweets. They can choose whether they want to post the Tweet organically to followers or to target a particular group of them.

It is not clear if the scheduled Tweets option will one day become available for all users of the micro blogging social media website or not. Nevertheless, while for advertisers scheduled Tweets is a much needed feature, for average users it would be nothing more than a bonus with little practical application. Therefore, Twitter may keep it available for a more limited audience only.
