The Dubai Land Department ( LD ) has announced its participation in the forthcoming GITEX information technology exhibition, which takes place during October 20-24th at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The government body, which has just played a prominent role at the recently concluded Cityscape Global 2013, will be showcasing its latest smart e-systems that have been designed to revolutionise its services and promote further investment in Dubai’s real estate sector.
Throughout GITEX 2013 – the 33rd edition of the region’s largest information technology show – LD will be presenting its package of smart solutions, revamped website, applications and e-services to potential investors, with experts on hand to answer any queries and explain the benefits of the various programmes. The department says that it is using the exhibition’s platform to enhance its customer services through promoting e-transformation, which involves putting the customer at the centre of e-services.
Among the new applications being showcased by LD at GITEX is the Dubai investment map, which serves as an e-gateway linked to the department’s website. The three-dimensional initiative shows the real estate projects taking place across the emirate and helps investors make purchasing decisions by providing the most up-to-date information based on trusted sources.
One particularly useful new service for all property stakeholders is the real estate ‘E-mart.’ This portal developed by LD has been designed to benefit landlords, sellers, buyers and brokers by enabling them to list their properties on the department’s website. The formal service is covered by specific rules and regulations that promote a culture of transparency and openness, thereby ensuring the rights of all parties.
Other examples of LD ‘s e-transformation agenda include an e-mortgage system that allows banks operating in the country to electronically register real estate mortgages and foreclosure proceedings. Its services include registration, modification, conversion and mortgage redemption. Property owners, in turn, are being served through electronic procedures that allow them to manage their real estate registered in Dubai. The system enables them to arrange for procedures to be carried out on the property or to follow-up on these requests, among other functions.
LD will also showcase the second edition of an e-procedures system that targets landlords in Dubai so that they can manage their registered properties. The system allows them to place requests and applications electronically and to follow-up procedures on their properties. Such requests might include map issuance, ownership deed application and document replacement.
To confirm its keenness in adopting the latest technologies and displaying how this promotes flexibility for clients, LD will showcase its ‘My Property’ application, which works on smart mobile phones and tablets. The programme allows clients to verify the accuracy and authenticity of documents produced by the real-estate registry system, such as certificates of ownership and contracts. It scans the document’s unique barcode, allowing them to be displayed and verified.
