INSEAD announces Global Executive MBA 2013/2014

INSEAD, the leading international business school, is pleased to announce its student intake for the Global Executive MBA (GEMBA) for the year 2013/2014. With campuses in Europe (Fontainebleau, France), Asia (Singapore) and Abu Dhabi, INSEAD is the only global business school with a multiple campus structure. Now in its fourth year, the 2013 intake of students is made up of 38 participants from 19 countries, highlighting the international nature of the programme.

GEMBA’s global outreach offers busy senior level executives convenience in its modular format. The programme has an added focus on leadership though the INSEAD leadership development programme (LDP), which is based on the school’s renowned Global Leadership Centre and methods. It brings together experienced and accomplished professionals to offer a holistic learning experience and accelerated career path to general management. The GEMBA modules are delivered across INSEAD’s campuses in Abu Dhabi, Singapore and Fontainebleau, providing a truly global learning experience and opportunities to network with peers across the different regions during the programme.

Driven by our understanding of the global business landscape, we created a programme that truly reflected the changing nature of business and the interconnectedness of the global economy”, said Miguel Lobo, Director of Abu Dhabi Campus, Associate Professor of Decision Sciences, INSEAD. “There is huge potential in this region, Abu Dhabi and the UAE in particular. This year we have seen students from the greater region choose to study at our campus in Abu Dhabi because they see the UAE as a centre of business and leadership in the global economy”.

Commenting on his enrolment in the course, Adam Chelinski from Poland said, “With the current economic environment, it is important to have an education that prepares you for the realities of the increasingly global marketplace. INSEAD offers just that, with its world renowned faculty, campuses in three geographic locations, it offers a truly flexible learning environment where I can acquire new skills, while at the same time continuing my career development. I am most excited about learning about international business and engaging with my classmates who are from all over the world”.

Another GEMBA student who registered for the programme, Bassam Alaujan, from Saudi Arabia commented: “Through GEMBA I hope to enhance my overall understanding of business while at the same time develop technical skills which will undoubtedly support my career development”.

In addition to this month’s intake, INSEAD will be holding its third Global Business Leaders Conference in Abu Dhabi on 22 October. This year’s conference is themed, “Creating Sustainable Business Value” – embedding sustainable practices into business strategies requires broad efforts, and sometimes transformational change, in management, governance, and technology. The conference will bring decision makers from the private and public sector to discuss the opportunities for creating sustainable business value through institutional reform and diffusion of best practices in industrial excellence and through the promotion of entrepreneurship and innovation.
