Diwali is a traditional Indian holiday and it is celebrated by many expats in Dubai and in the UAE in general. That is due to the large number of resident Indians in the emirates.

Diwali is also known as the Indian festival of light. It celebrates the victory of good over evil and people’s inner light. In addition, the holiday marks the beginning of the Hindu New Year, which makes it even more important.
Every year, Diwali is celebrated on a different date. It depends on cycle of the moon and it usually takes place in October or in November. This year, Diwali will be marked on November 3rd (Sunday).
Like every year, there will be a number of Diwali-related events in Dubai. Among them will be Ensemble Dubai – Diwali Exhibition 2013. It will take place on October 30th at Ensemble Dubai. The event will start at 5 pm and it will showcase the couture, bridal and pret collections of Sania Maskatiya.
Another Diwali event which will be held on October 30th is Diwali Dhamaka. This celebration promises to be very fun and entertaining. It will include music, games, prizes and many more. The event will kick off at 7 pm at Dubai’s H Hotel.
However, the biggest and more extravagant Diwali celebration in Dubai promises to be the one at Lamcy Plaza. The event started on October 20th. However, don’t worry, because you can still attend it. That is because it will continue until November 4th. The celebration will offer traditional and cultural events. There will be lots of prizes for the visitors. In addition, the mall will be covered with various Diwali decorations and colourful lamps. The music will also reflect the spirit of the holiday. However, it will not be limited only to traditional Indian dance tune and it will also include popular Bollywood songs.
All of the events promise to offer attendees true Indian atmosphere. So, make sure you mark them up in your calendar!
