Our list with Christmas gifts for children is based on the most wanted items at the web’s largest online store. Here are the 2013 bestsellers in toys and games – the items shoppers most often add to their wish lists and shopping cards.

Twistz Bandz Rainbow Loom – this is apparently the most wished for item in the Toys & Games category on the website. It is a bracelet making kit, which keeps the kids (and teens) occupied for hours!

LEGO Minecraft (Original) – this is a super fun game not only the younger ones, addicted to LEGO, but also for teens fans of the fastest growing online game of 2012, Minecraft.

Despicable Me 2 – the second movie, featuring the crazy, adorable minions is currently at No.1 of the best-selling Moves & TV for kids. It is also the most wanted item in this category.

Monsters University – the collector’s edition of the cartoon is the second most wished for in the Movies & TV category, and it certainly will entertain both kids and parents!

The House of Hades – the fourth book of the Heroes of Olympus series by Rick Riordan has become one of the best-selling and most wanted books for children and teenagers since its release in October. If by any chance, your kids are not familiar with the books, they will definitely know the film series, based on the original story.

Qwirkle Board Game – it’s a fun twist on good, old Scrabble and it’s not only entertaining, but it also requires gaming strategy, plotting and scheming. It’s the perfect family game for kids aged 6 years and up.

Cards Against Humanity – this is definitely a game for your older teens (the sign says 17+ age!). However, it is the best-selling item in the Games & Toys category and if you like spending time with your high-school and college boys and girls, this is what you need.

PlayStation 4 Battlefield 4 Launch Day Bundle – this is the perfect Christmas gift for your teen gamer, but only in case you really want to get them a video game! The official release date for PS4 is November, 15, so you’d better sign up for email notification on Amazon when exactly it will be available for purchase.

Basically, when shopping for children, the best gifts are always the toys. Just make sure what you are getting what your children would like, but not just the biggest and the trendiest toy available in store!

  1. I agree that you should get what your children like and not give into the trends they see and hear about. Search for a gift they will seek to use for a long period of time for the rest of the year. I would write a list of questions as to what is practical about the item and go off this list.
