The United Arab Emirates is celebrating its 42th anniversary on Monaday, December 2, 2013. All seven emirates will be holding major events to mark the National Day, and as the most popular of them, Dubai has prepared spectacular fireworks, parade, concerts, kids’ activities, and many more. In this article, we are listing Dubai’s program of events, shows, and activities celebrating the 42th UAE National Day.
From 25th November till 3rd December, visitors at the Dubai Mall will be able to see the Panoramic Union Gallery movie about UAE’s history. It is organized by the Ministry of Culture, Youth & Community Development and held at the Souq Dome. In fact, the Dubai Mall has prepared a great selection of events to celebrate the National Day – I Love UAE at Bloomingdale’s Atrium and My Country Through My Lense photography competition at the Star Atrium, which will both run from 26th November through 2nd December. A special Hospitality Tent will be open for visitors also until December 2 at the Grand Atrium. The Arabic Seating will be held every day at 3-10 pm. at the Souq Atrium and the Kids Arts & Crafts will be open from 3 pm till 9 pm at The Village. In addition, all customers will have a chance to win a Mercedes-Benz S 500 2014 for every AED 300 they spend using MasterCard from November 14 till the end of December. The Dubai Mall will also have a Children Carnival from November 30 till December 4, which will be held twice a day – at 5.00 pm and at 7.30 pm.
Dubai Marina Mall on the other hand will entertain visitors with a parade and a meet & greet with the Freej characters on December 1 and 2. Of course, there will be traditional dance performers on the Promenade Terrace, a henna tent, falconers’ shows, and face painting for the kids.
The UAE National Day Souq at the Burj Plaza will run through Monday, offering traditional handcrafted items and souvenirs, scarves, abayas and many other locally produced merchandise. Nakheel is having a celebration this Thursday from 4.00 pm until 10.00 pm. at the Palm, Jumeirah. There will be displays of national sports and activities such as falcons, camels, traditional food, henna booth, and many more.
The National Day Parade will take place on December 1 at Mohammad Bin Rashid Boulevard and this year organizers promise it will be even bigger and better than in 2012. Attending in the parade will be various governmental entities, schools, bikers’ clubs, CSR associations, organizations, dancing and music bands and many others. It will start at 3.00 pm. The main event of Dubai celebrations for the 42nd Anniversary of UAE Union will take place at Burj Park on Sunday evening. “The Happiest Nation” is the title of this year’s celebrations which are focused on the historic and cultural heritage and the opportunities of the future as well. The event will feature lots of shows, performances, family activities, as well as a magnificent firework display that will light up the night sky over Dubai.
On December 2, at 2pm you will be able to visit the Dubai Marina Yacht Club Boat Parade, as well as to observe part of the Bicycle Marathon from Dubai to Abu Dhabi which will gather athletes and enthusiasts paying tribute to the Union Flag.
