The New Year is knocking on the door and the one thing everyone’s talking about is the New Year’s Eve parties. In a city like Dubai the celebrations, the fireworks and the partying are always big. So, many of you are probably wondering where to celebrate the New Year’s Eve in Dubai. Well, we have done some digging and we have come up with some great ideas for this year’s parties. Find out where to celebrate the New Year’s Eve in Dubai in 2013.

This year, Dubai is setting up another huge challenge and a wonderful spectacle for its residents and guests – the city is about to break the world record for the largest display of fireworks. If you want to witness the attempt to get another Guinness world record, get ready for 400,000 fireworks stretched over a 100 km shoreline! The dazzling firework show will continue for six minutes and will be the greatest in history, with a bright countdown to 12 in the sky in Arabic and English, among other image displays. The “sunrise at midnight” can be observed from various spots, but you can get a AED 75 ticket for the special round trip RTA water bus, which departs from Dubai Marina Mall Water Transport Station and stops in front of The Palm Jumeirah for 20 min where you can watch the fireworks being set off from The Palm, the World Islands, Burj Khalifa, and Burj Al Arab.

Some of the hottest gala events and parties will happen on The Palm Jumeirah at many of the hotels and resorts on the island – Atlantis, Anantara, Sofitel, Kempinski, Rixos, and Jumeirah Zabeel Saray. The Sundance NYE is definitely one of the hottest places to be, with stars including Paul Oakenfold, Swedish House Mafia member Axwell, Emeli Sande, DJs Pete Tong and David Craig, and “I Love It” star Charli XCX. Although the VIP tickets are sold out, you can still get a regular pass for AED 450 or AED 530 at the door. And the only access to Sundance is through the RTA buses, which will be departing from American University of Dubai from 5 pm.

The other huge party will be at N’Dulge, Atlantis The Palm from 7 pm., where you’ll be able to see American rapper Vanilla Ice and his all-time hits, including “Ice Ice Baby” and “Play That Funky Music”. DJs David Craig, Dean Curtis, Marko and Safe and the Smokingroove will also be in charge of the fun tonight. The AED 300 ticket includes access to rooms and rooftop terrace to watch the fireworks, as well as a glass of champagne and can be purchased at AUD on December 31 between 4 pm. and 9 pm.

You’ll find more glitz and luxury at the special NYE Gatsby Party at Cavali Club at 8 pm. on December 31. The extravagant themed event will offer you decadent pleasures and 1920’s-inspired music and entertainment, so you’d better find a headpiece, dress up and prepare for fine dining, wine and fabulous dances! The packages including drinks and dinner are AED 1650, while passes for the open bar are AED 950 for the ladies and 1150 for the gentlemen. The other themed party will be at the Movenpick Hotel Ibn Battuta Gate and it is welcoming all who love the Agent 007 movies. The James Bond NYE party starts from 8 pm. and will cost you AED 699 or AED 999 with beverages and bubbly.

For fans of the truly extravagant and bizarre entertainment, the best spot this New Year’s Eve will be the Cirque Le Soir Dubai, Fairmont Hotel Dubai, at the Sheikh Zayed Road. The Greatest Show on Earth will amaze with strong men and bearded women, lion tamers and mermaids, clowns, fire eaters, snake charmers, sword swallowers, and many others. The Victorian Circus promises delicious treats, seductive atmosphere, daring acts, and lots of fun for those who booked in advance. The tickets are AED 790 (women) and AED 990 (men), and if you’re lucky, you can still find one.

This year, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has prepared a Master Traffic Plan for New Year’s Eve. Bus rides will be for free and you can enjoy a 24-hour metro service, so you can basically go wherever you want. However, you should know that there will be traffic and parking restrictions for particular areas of the city. For instance, entry to The Palm Jumeirah will be denied to all vehicles from 10 pm., so plan your night well to avoid disappointment.
