One of the most anticipated tech devices in 2014 is Samsung Galaxy S5. As always, the next generation Galaxy S is expected to be better and to include many new features, although not exactly revolutionary. Since tech geeks are quite impatient to get a glimpse of the innovative device, Galaxy S5’s release date has been a hot topic on the web for a while by now. Well, you can finally take a deep breath! Samsung has shared the news.
Samsung’s vice president of design strategy, Doon-hoon Chang, has shared some valuable information on Galaxy S5 during a recent event in Seoul. He confirmed to the press the speculation of an early-2014 launch. He said that Samsung’s latest flagship smartphone will be introduced at this year’s Mobile World Expo. The event is scheduled to take place in February. However, the exact date was not specified. Despite that, it will certainly be anywhere between February 24 and 27 when MWE will be held in Barcelona.
In addition to that, Samsung’s vice president of design strategy hinted that the upcoming mobile device might actually have a flexible display and a metal body.
We remind, you that, according to the latest rumours, Samsung galaxy S5 is said to have a metal case and possibly a curved or flexible screen. Nevertheless, the metal body might also be limited only to Samsung’s Galaxy F which is also predicted to be launched in Barcelona.
As for the Samsung Galaxy F, the information on this device continues to be rather scarce. Various sources claim that the handset will be a high-end edition of S5. Therefore, it is expected to have more advanced specifications. It is believed that it will be powered by a 2.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chip and will come with 3GB of RAM. Rumours also suggest that it will have a 5.25” display and an impressive 2K resolution with a pixel density of 566ppi. It might also sport an eye scanner and a 16MP rear-side camera. All of these features are not exactly revolutionary when it comes to smartphones. There is also information that the device will have a diamond back coating. However, that will probably remain in the realm of fantasy.
What is known about Galaxy S5, on the other hand, is that it is likely to come with a 1080p screen and a 16MP camera. In addition, it will run on Google’s latest Android 4.4 KitKat mobile operating system.
So, mark your calendars for the end of February, because Samsung’s Galaxy S 5 and its high-end friend will be released just then.
