Sad news for all iPhone fans! iPhone 6 will not be available at the Apple store in May or even any time soon after. Nevertheless, the tech giant is said to surprise consumers with a brand new product dubbed iPhablet.

Even though various sources have suggested that Apple is preparing for a May iPhone 6 launch, the company may postpone the release until September 2014. However, given that Apple traditionally introduces its latest generation iPhones in the autumn, this should not really be viewed as a delay.

Despite that, Apple will unveil a new product or a number of new products this spring. According to Yahoo!Japan, the company will release a handset with a massive screen. In others words, consumers may expect to see a revolutionary iPhablet or an iPhone phablet sometime this May.

The report claims that Apple’s new device will not be equipped with the rumoured A8 processor. Instead, it is expected to rely on the 64-bit A7 CPU which was also use for the iPhone 5S. However, there are almost no other details regarding the upcoming product. Nevertheless, it is predicted that the gadget will rock at least a 5.7” screen. In our opinion, this doesn’t seem realistic as Apple has an established reputation for releasing elegant and classy products, while giant smartphones are usually associated with “nouveau riche” status. This is one of the reasons why Samsung sales its large screen devices in emerging Asia.

There is some logic in the iPhablet news. A number of sources have already pointed that Apple has been working on two smartphones. Moreover, one of them was said to have a big 5.7” display. This is more than enough to place it in the phablet category. In November 2013, another source claimed that the U.S. company is considering to launch two different editions of the new-generation iPhone.

As for the new features of iPhone 6, predictions include a larger display, sapphire glass, iOS 8 and an A8 processor. However, given that Apple Apple has already made huge innovations with iPhone 5S, we may not see these updates until a little further in the future.
Of course, Apple has declined to comment on any iPhone or iPhablet rumours. However, the company did share that it has some great ideas for 2014.
