A new ranking by Forbes proves exactly the opposite. The list consists of 10 flexible and well-paid jobs that are widely available in the U.S. today. The ranking is based on factors like required experience, university degree and, of course, average salary.
Senior Project Manager, IT – If you have at least 5 years of experience in the field and a bachelor’s degree, you have every chance to work as a senior project manager in the IT sector and receive a an average salary of $99,100. Although it is hard to do this job entirely from home, it does offer plenty of flexibility. Around half of the people capable to fulfill this job work from home most of the time.
Business Development Director – If you have the right qualifications and experience, you can receive about $96,700 as a business development director. In addition, you will be able to work from home if you rely on telecommuting.
Field Sales Engineer – Salaries here often reach an average of nearly $80,000. Again, this position requires some experience and a higher education degree. However, 40% of field sales engineers are able to work from the comfort of their own home.
Network Engineer, IT – The percentage is slightly lower with network engineer in the IT field. A little over 33% of them get the change to telecommute. Nevertheless, it is estimated that they are paid $68,600 which is a pretty decent figure.
Management Consultant – Although just 30.4% of management consultants telecommute, this job is still considered a highly flexible one. With the right education and experience, candidates can enjoy a salary of $91,300.
IT Architect – Even higher is the salary of IT architects. They receive an average of $93,000 and are allowed to trade the office for their home in most of the cases.
Operations Director – Do not hesitate to apply for the position of an operations director. If you are given a green light, you will work from home and have the rare opportunity to get $74,700.
Marketing and Sales Director – For this job, you will need an experience of about 5 to 8 years and at least a bachelor’s degree. Also, you will receive the nearly the same average salary as operations directors and to do your job from home 25% of the time.
Software Architect – This is the best-paid flexible job option on the list. The salary of software architects is around $100,500 on the average. In addition, working from home is not simply an option here, but part of the job.
As you can see, all of the job included on the list require higher education degree and some experience in the field. In addition, the report warns that, in most of the cases, such flexible positions are either seasoned or are given only to the best and most experiences employees.
