The big fashion weeks season will kick off in the beginning of February. Designers are getting ready to showcase their Fall/Winter 2014 collections across the four fashion capitals of the world – New York, London, Milan and Paris. New York Fashion Week (February 6 – 13)
The fashion week in New York will be the first to open the Fall/Winter 2014 season preview. The fashion shows will run between February 6 – 13. The new thing about them is that they will impress with redesigned on-site show venues. They will have more diverse environments.
In addition, a new venue will be introduced in New York. It will be called The Pavilion and it will be a flexible presentation space for rising fashion talents. Also, the event will offer a Digital District. It will service as a virtual version of the fashion week. There, fashionistas can watch live-streamed shows and browse through various digital fashion content.
The New York Fashion Week 2014 will showcase collections by Nicholas K, Carolina Herrera, Tommy Hilfiger, Donna Karan New York, Michael Kors, Hugo Boss, Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein.
London Fashion Week (February 14 – 18)
London Fashion Week is the biggest fashion event in the UK. It is also the most expensive for participation. Therefore, it is not surprising that it contributes more than $33 million London’s economy. The shows attract visitors from more than 25 countries, like the US, Russia, France, China and also the UAE. Often, LFW is also a sign of rebelliousness, although that it not witnessed every year. Hopefully, the 2014 London Fashion Week will offer us namely that. Expect to see collections from Vivienne Westwood, Issa and Tom Ford. The first show will be held on February 14 and the last will close the event on February 18.
Milan Fashion Week – (February 18 – 23)
Milan Fashion Week is traditionally organized after London Fashion Week and before Paris Fashion Week. This season will make no exception and the catwalks in the Italian city will be ready for the show on February 18 – 23.
Similar to the New York Fashion Week, fans will have the chance to watch many of the shows online at the event’s official website.
Famous designers that will participate include Italian and international names like Prada, Gucci, Versace, as well as Moschino. There will also be plenty of emerging talents. However, the fashion week in Milan is usually dominated by Italian luxury brands, which are now the most preferred worldwide.
Paris Fashion Week
The Couture Week and the Men’s Fashion Week were already held in Paris this January.
However, from February 25 until March 5, the Paris Fashion Week will display the ready-to-wear collections by some of the industry’s most known designers. This year, among them will be Chanel, Valentino, Elie Saab, Alexander McQueen, Saint Laurent and Givenchy. Therefore, all the big names are there and class will be in the air. The atmosphere at the fashion week in the French capital is traditionally very formal, since Paris Fashion Week is often viewed as the main and oldest fashion event of the year. Like always, the shows will be followed by glamorous parties, which will attract swarms of celebrities.
