One of the most aggressively expanding multinational hotel operators, Hilton, announced it will open a number of new hotels in Dubai in the coming two years. The hotels will range from mid-priced to upscale ones.
Hilton Worldwide has just announced its plans to launch new hotels of its Garden Hilton Inn brand in Dubai. Last week, Hilton’s CEO and President Christopher Nassetta was reported to have met in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
Hilton Garden Inn hotels are one of Hilton’s mid-priced chains. The company will open two hotels of this brand at the beginning of 2015. They will have a combined capacity of 365 rooms. In addition, these are the first Hilton Garden Inn hotels that will be launched in the emirate.
The two hotels will offer comfort at a more affordable price, as well as high-quality consumer service. Through them, Hilton will try to bring more versatility to Dubai’s hospitality market.
Dubai’s upcoming Hilton Garden Inn Hotels will have a capacity of a little over 180 rooms each. In addition, they will bear the names Hilton Garden Inn Dubai Al Muraqabat and Hilton Garden Inn Dubai Al Mina. They will be located in the center of the emirate’s established areas.
Another two Hilton-managed hotels will open for guests this year. However, they will be from Hilton Worldwide’s upscale brand Doubletree by Hilton. Even though the facilities were initially scheduled to be launched in 2013, their opening dates were moved to the summer of 2014.
Doubletree by Hilton Jumeirah will be the smaller of the two. It is will have around 110 rooms and it will be set near Hilton Dubai Jumeirah on The Walk JBR, in the Dubai Marina area. Doubletree by Hilton Dubai Al Barsha Hotel & Residence will be second of them. It will have a bigger capacity of nearly 350 rooms.
In addition to that, Hilton might introduce one more Doubletree by Hilton hotel this year. The hotel is located in Bur Dubai and it might be ready by the end of 2014.
These will not be the first Doubletree by Hilton hotels in the United Arab Emirates. Hilton opened the country’s first hotel of this brand about three years ago in Ras Al Khaimah. The Doubletree by Hilton hotels’ trademark is the warm chocolate chip cookies which are offered to guest upon chick-in. This particular brand of the company targets both leisure and business travelers.
After the Dubai’s World Expo 2020 win announcement, the emirate is planning to focus more of its attention to the hospitality sector. The city is expected to see a rise in the demand of four- and five-star hotels over the next few years. Therefore, this is just the start of the upcoming hotel boom in Dubai.
Marriott is another multinational hotel operator who stepped up the expansion in the UAE in recent months with the opening of two new properties in January.
