Following this season’s daring burst of trends and colours, the Harvey Nichols – Dubai Spring/Summer 14 fashion show was a stunning showcase of striking hues and glamour heralding the new season.
The Madinat Arena, Souk Madinat Jumeirah was transformed into an industrial setting with the ceiling decked in a collective display of luminous pendant lights suspended within the dark space.
The show kicked off in the presence of over 500 guests as models emerged on the metallic grid catwalk in bursts of bold colours, tribal prints, bright whites, metallics and a touch of athletic influences by designers including Erdem, Giambattista Valli, Mary Katranzou and Fausto Puglisi. The choreography featured models appearing in a line and being positioned horizontally on the grid.
In contrast, there was a polished femininity and sophistication with the feature of chiffon and lace in an array of beautiful hues, as seen in collections by Monique Lhuiller, Zuhair Murad and Oscar De la Renta.
Models also showcased equally bold make-up looks to compliment the evening’s theme. The eyes were highlighted using vibrant pigments of pewter by Laura Mercier on fresh, luminous skin while the hair was perfectly slicked back courtesy of SHOW Beauty.
Harvey Nichols – Dubai extended an invitation to fashion show guests to join an exclusive after party within the arena. Attendees enjoying the ambience until late with up-tempo music and indulged in a delicious selection of savory and sweet canapés.
