The French Business Council of Dubai & Northern Emirates eyes more business opportunities

This week, the French Business Council of Dubai & Northern Emirates (FBC) announced a growth of 18% in its members, reaching a total of more than 600 members, both French and local companies.

The French Chamber of Commerce in Dubai, which is now the first French business community in the Middle East, still aims to expand its business and membership base this year.

The main objectives of the French Business Council (FBC) is inform its members of the business community about the new opportunities arising in Dubai, to promote and develop business and commercial relationships between the UAE and France, to provide business support to the its Members and to the French exporters in order to help to set up or increase their business in the UAE.

Many projects are taking place now in the UAE. The largest new scheme is Mohammed bin Rashid City in Dubai, announced in November 2012. UAE government will invest around 272 billion USD in the infrastructure during the five coming years by making the majority of projects available to the private sector through public-private partnerships. Important projects of residential, touristic and commercial projects are launched in the framework of Expo 2020 which will significantly increase opportunities for the French companies based in the UAE.

French companies coming with development projects, seeking partners, or in need of close commercial follow-up or wishing to set up a branch in the United Arab Emirates can refer to the French Business Council (FBC) which is fully dedicated to answer their needs.

According to Claude Valle, President of the FBC, “The French Community in the UAE strongly supported Dubai Expo 2020 bid and the French companies -more than 1000 in the UAE- are now ready to offer their expertise to the organizers to make this event a tremendous success! The French Business Council is the one stop shop for its members who commit to offering their skills to serve the World Expo 2020, to creating opportunities in both countries and to taking our bilateral economic relationships to new horizons.”

The UAE form, since many years, an exceptional commercial partner for France’s companies, the Federation is the 4th global exceeding (overflow) with 2.4 Billion € where in the past ten years the French imports have tripled. The exports from France to Gulf represent 3.65 Billion €. The UAE federation is France’s 8th supplier in petrol products. The UAE has been welcoming around 20 000 French residents this past year.

For this growing community, the French Business Council Dubai (FBC) will celebrate its annual Gala Dinner in Dubai 3rd of April 2014 – Emirates Golf Club. The most important event of the French Community after the French national day, the Gala Dinner of the FBC will host around 1000 guests including official personalities such as the French Ambassador, the French Consul, representatives of Dubai Chamber of Commerce and top management of the French companies based in Dubai. The Gala Dinner will take place in a glamorous atmosphere under the stars at the iconic venue of the Emirates Golf Club in Dubai with a fine gastronomy including live cooking stations of talented Chefs from prestigious restaurants in Dubai & a French touch with live music band from France.
