The annual list of the Best-Paying Jobs for Women was release today by the American business magazine Forbes. According to it, women receive the most attractive salaries when involved in technology, business and healthcare sectors. However, women’s wages are often lower than men’s wages.

Not surprisingly, the best-paid job for women this year is titled Chief Executive Officer. Both men and women CEOs tend to receive some of the highest salaries today, regardless of the industry in which they are involved. Despite that, according to Forbes, a little fewer than 80% of all CEOs are men, while just 21% are women.

Just like the CEO, the management analyst job is also very well-paid for women this year. This job is ranked at the 9th spot on Forbes’ list. CEO isn’t the only organizational role paying women healthy wages. Other best-paid jobs for women in the same sector include human resource managers, operations research managers, as well as operations and general managers.

A great part of the list is made up of jobs within the healthcare industry. The highest ranked of them is pharmacist. According to Forbes, pharmacists receive an approximate median yearly earnings of over $90,700. Also, on the list are professions like speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, nurse practitioners, psychologists and physical therapists.

The technology industry is lately seen topping various rankings. Not much different is the case with this list. Many technology-related jobs prove to be quite well-paid for the ladies. Even though this industry is generally as being male-dominated, 4 out of the 20 best-paying professions for women are namely in this sphere. Among them, computer and information system analysts received the highest salary – $80,548. Women, who work as software developers, on the other hand, enjoy average yearly earnings of about $71,240.

Nevertheless, researchers who conducted the study, have found that women receive 17% lower salaries compared to men who occupy the same positions. This fact demonstartes a huge gap between men and women across many industries. While there are ladies, who receive as much as their male counterparts or even more, they still continue to be regarded as a minority or an exception.

Some of this year’s worst-paid jobs for women are also mentioned. Among them are, for instance, dry cleaning workers, food prep workers, jobs related to agriculture, farming and fishing, as well as cashiers. However, even here the study has discovered that men tend to receive higher wages compared to women.
