Teachers will have to acquire a federal license in order to work in UAE schools, says a new regulation from the Ministry of Education. The licenses will contribute to the integration of a unified system and standards in schools, according to Marwaan Al Sawaleh, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Education.
During the annual ceremony on Youm Al Wafa’a (Loayalty Day), held by the MoE for honouring retired ministry employees and educational and media supporters, Marwaan Al Sawaleh announced the introduction of unified, federal teaching licenses. By the end of the year, the ministry should be ready to submit all suggested procedures and legislations, required for their approval and validation. Then, the new system will be gradually established over several different phases. Once it is introduced everywhere, it will ensure higher, unified teaching standards across the country. Of course, teachers will not be permitted to teach before obtaining a federal license, but this should not be a problem, since the system will be gradually introduced.
Humaid Mohammad Al Quatami, Minister of Education, also spoke during the event, noting that recently, the national educational system has experienced a lot of changes. UAE schools have also reported better scores on international assessments and the highest among all Middle Eastern countries. The new license system aims to further improve UAE performance by setting higher standards for all teachers – those working in public and in private schools. Hopefully, the new regulation will contribute to the higher quality of education and as a result, better academic performance and future realization of students.
plz guide me how i get the teaching license in UAE
India with one of the best teaching standards in the world does not has this type of license. Perhaps UAE always is in need of getting money out of the expatriates pockets, always on one pretext or another.
